Annie Jump Cannon  Annie was an influential astronomer from Dover, Delaware.

Mary Ann Shadd Cary  Mary was and advocate for the rights of black people and women.  She was also first black woman to receive a law degree in the United States.  She was born in Wilmington, Delaware.
